What shall we talk about?
“A strategic journey: From DNA sequencing research and funding 2008 to successful exit 2011”
Fredrik Dahl is the former CTO and co-founder of Swedish company Halo Genomics, provider of innovative technology for the DNA sequencing market. In 2008 Fredrik Dahl formed Halo Genomics together with colleagues from the Rudbeck Laboratory at Uppsala University. At the same time the company was admitted to the business incubator Uppsala Innovation Centre (UIC). From start the objective was to make an exit within five years. The result was a fast exit in 2011 when the company, after only three years, was acquired by Agilent Technologies, the world's premier measurement company and a technology leader in chemical analysis, life sciences, electronics and communications. Today Halo Genomics’ products are a central part of Agilent’s portfolio. Agilent has kept Halo’s R&D in Uppsala and is now expanding the department in order to meet the demand. Halo Genomics/Agilent Technologies is today one of UIC’s alumni companies.
Fredrik will tell us about the strategic journey from DNA sequencing research and funding in 2008 to a successful exit in 2011. How was the strategic exit plan designed? What key decisions were made to be able to stick to the exit plan? How was the successful integration process conducted? What are the main learnings? This webinar will look at the key factors which made a Swedish biotechnology company go from research to exit in only three years.
